Community Involvement
Our curriculum includes many opportunities for the students
to apply their lessons through various community outreach opportunities.
Our students' families are also encouraged to become involved with their
child’s school program on a weekly basis as we feel their contributions
are a unique and essential element to a child’s education.
White Clay students hold one or two
fundraisers per year. Proceeds are then sent to an organization that our
students have identified through their curriculum work as being in
need.

White Clay Learning Center students participated in
2006 land management study of Otter Creek, Port Deposit, Maryland,
as part of their Chesapeake Bay unit.
These studies included collection of field data on the Otter
River and later application of research and testing techniques in
the lab to samples collected.
The students will later make their recommendations to the
township concerning marina development. |
