Parental
Involvement
Parents have the opportunity at White Clay to participate in their
child’s lessons during the school week. Our certified teachers will
create a complete activity plan for our students each week. The
activities and lessons planned, are presented and explored with your
child on our three group interaction days of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and are rich in
collaborative, creative, and hands-on activities.
Our learning center fulfills the remainder of the required school hours
by allowing our parents to supervise one or two of our independent study days
themselves. The more
independent learning activities such as; spelling, language practice,
rewriting and reinforcement lessons are accomplished during a more
condensed time at home.
White Clay offers three schedule options to meet our families’ various
needs.
-
3-day curriculum
with home schooling
Tuesday through Thursday school attendance;
parents provide home school activities on Monday and Friday. White
Clay serves as evaluator.
-
3-day full
curriculum with White Clay-assigned home studies
Tuesday through Thursday school attendance; parents
supervise the independent study days of Monday and/or
Friday.
- 4-day full curriculum with White Clay-assigned
home studies
Monday through Thursday, school attendance; parents supervise
Independent study assignments on Friday.
White Clay also encourages parent volunteers to assist us with our
group interaction during the school day. A tuition discount is given to families
who wish to commit some of their time with us. Special arrangements can be
made for families who wish for their child to complete both Monday's and
Friday's independent study days at school.
